    Employment News is the flagship weekly job journal of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. It was launched in 1976 with a view to provide information on employment opportunities to the unemployed and under employed youth of the country.

  • Employment Bank

    Employment Bank, West Bengal is a joint initiative by the Labour Department and the Information Technology Department, Government of West Bengal with active support from the Higher Education Department and the Technical Education & Training Department.

  • Board of Practical Training Program

    In pursuance of the recommendations of the Scientific Manpower Committee made about five decades ago, the erstwhile Ministry of Education, Government of India, initiated a ‘Practical Training Stipendiary Scheme” with the object of providing Practical Training to the fresh Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders in Engineering.

  • Central Staff Selection Commission

    The Estimates Committee of the Parliament, in its 47th Report (1967-68), recommended the setting up of a Service Selection Commission for conducting examinations for recruitment to lower categories of posts. Pursuant to this, and as an interim measure, an Examination Wing was initially added to the Secretariat Training School, subsequently renamed as the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM).

It makes recruitment in Group ‘C’ & Group ‘B’ Non-gazatted posts in Ministries and Departments of Govt. of India.

  • College Service Commission

    The West Bengal College Service Commission was established by an Act passed in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 1979. Its main functions are to select and recommend Assistant Professors, Librarians and Principals to all (nearly 450) the Government-aided Colleges in West Bengal, as well as to conduct the State Eligibility Test (SET). The Act of 1979 was revised in 2012 and 2017.

  • National Skill Development Corporation

    National Skill Development Corporation India (NSDC), established in 2009, is a not- for- profit company set up by the Ministry of Finance, under Section 25 of the Companies Act,1956 corresponding to Section 8 of the Companies Act,2013. The present equity base of NSDC is Rs.10 crore, of which the Government of India through Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE ) holds 49%, while the private sector has the balance 51%.
