The Government of West Bengal through various departments has come up with several self employment and employment generation programmes for encouragement of entrepreneurship.The employment generation in Small Scale & Cottage sector is second highest after agricultures.   Schemes & Facilities

  • MSME WB (My Enterpise)

    A quick and simple way to access all information and requirements of setting up an MSME unit in the state and the incentives provided by government.

  • Government Offices

    There are various government offices at the state and field (regional, district, sub-district) with which an MSM enterprise is connected.

  • Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana(SJSRY)

    The Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) was launched on 01.12.1997 after subsuming the earlier three schemes for urban poverty alleviation, namely Nehru Rozgar Yojana (NRY), Urban Basic Services for the Poor (UBSP), and Prime Minister's Integrated Urban Poverty Eradication Programme (PMIUPEP).

  • Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prakalpa(SVSKP)

    The flagship scheme "Swami Vivekananda Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prakalpa(SVSKP)'' all over the State to create self employment opportunities for unemployed youth including members of backward classes, minorities and women all over the State.

  • Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana(SJGSY)

    The Department of Panchayat & Rural Development Department is the Administrative Department for all the programme of Employment Generation Programme for poverty alleviation in the rural areas including Wage Employment Programme as well as Self Employment Programme.

  • Gatidhara  (Labour Department, Govt. of West Bengal)

    Gatidhara is a scheme of the Government of West Bengal administered by Transport Department for employment of registered unemployed youth of the State in transport sector

  • Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP)

    Government of India has approved the introduction of a new credit linked subsidy programme called Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) by merging the two schemes that were in operation till 31.03.2008 namely Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (PMRY) and Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP) for generation of employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban areas.

  • National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGA)

    National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 (or, NREGA No 42, later renamed as the "Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act", MGNREGA), is an Indian labour law and social security measure that aims to guarantee the 'right to work'.

  • Yuva Utsaha Prakalpa (YUP)

    The objective of the scheme is to provide unemployment assistance to the enrolled jobseekers of Employment Bank to enable them to upgrade their level of skill in order to make them employable or suitable for setting up of self-employment ventures.

  • Udiyaman Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prakalpa(USKP)

    Udiyaman Swanirbhar Karmasansthan Prakalpa (USKP), is to assist unemployed youth validly registered with employment exchanges in West Bengal by providing subsidized credit from commercial banks.

  • Samajsathi

    Vide State Government resolution no. 83-SH/2P/Prs-15/2009 dated 20th February 2009, the State Government decided that a Corporation will be set up under the Department of Self Help Group & Self Employment.

  • Training for the skill development of members / members of self-help groups

    In July 2006, the Swanirvar group and self-employment department was formed by the amendment of the West Bengal Regulation of Business (Notification No. 196) (Constitution) -R-2 -R (Constitution) -10/06 Tang 12 / 07/2006

  • Training of Unemployed Youth

    The State Government is very seriously looking after the matter regarding creation of newer avenues for employment generation for the unemployed student-youth of our state. This is why, as desired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, a new organization has been set up under my Department styled as ‘West Bengal State Mission for Employment’ in short WBSME to speed up the overall activities

  • West Bengal Self Help group

    The State Government vide resolution no 83-SH / 2P / Prs-15/2009 dated 20th February 2009, formed a corporation in the name of the West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Limited and in conformity with the company companies, existing in the Companies Act, 1956.

  • Yuvasree

    West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee launched the Yuvashree scheme at a programme organized by the Department of Labour at Netaji Indoor Stadium. The Chief Minister also handed over cheques to some of the beneficiaries of the scheme. “Yuvashree is your right and our responsibility. Financial crisis in the state will not stop the Govt. from performing its duty towards our brothers and sisters. Work will not find you; you will have to find your work. Struggle now and you will reap the fruit in future. This is just a small assistance from the government.

  • Muktidhara

    A new project named 'Muktidhara' has been started on 7th March, 2013 in Purulia, with the aim of self-help groups and self-help groups for permanent sustained livelihood, poverty alleviation and economic development. The project was implemented by the Society in collaboration with NABARD.

  • National Bank For Agriculture And Rural Development(NABARD)

    Our initiatives are aimed at building an empowered and financially inclusive rural India through specific goal oriented departments which can be categorized broadly into three heads: Financial, Developmental and Supervision.

  • Backward Classes Welfare Department

    The Backward Classes Welfare Department works for social, economic and cultural development of the people belonging to SC and OBC in the State.BCW Department has introduced e-enabled services for the issuance of Caste Certificates and disbursement of all types of Scholarship resulting in transparency, speedy disposal, easy access and increased coverage during last three years.

  • Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises

    Definitions of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises In accordance with the provision of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are classified in two Classes.

  • Handloom

    Handloom products of Bengal have a rich tradition. The heritage of our master weavers and artisans are now blended with new technological designs and threads to produce wide variety of products. As an economic trade & industrial activity, the handlooms occupy a place second only to agriculture in providing livelihood to the people.
